QR Code Quiz Maker: Open With One Scan

A QR quiz opens on a phone after one scan. Quiz Funnel asks one question at a time, collects answers and contact details, and exports them as CSV.

Quiz

Build a mobile quiz funnel behind a QR code: step-by-step questions with images, info screens, and a branded thank-you page. Collect answers and contact details in your dashboard and export them to CSV.

1 / 22
A QR quiz is a quiz that opens when someone scans a QR code. QR-Build's Quiz Funnel hosts it as a mobile page with one question per step, then saves answers in the dashboard submissions inbox for CSV export. It does not grade answers, assign a score, or run a live multiplayer game.

What Is a QR Quiz?

A QR quiz is a hosted mobile quiz opened by a scan, not a link typed from a poster. In QR-Build the format is called Quiz Funnel: one question per step, with progress and transitions, plus an optional welcome screen and a thank-you screen.

People search for a QR quiz when they want the scan itself to start the quiz. Marketers use that moment for a lead generation quiz QR code. Event teams use it to qualify booth visitors. Restaurants and retailers use it to collect preferences. Teachers and hosts use it for a short ungraded check-in.

Quiz Funnel is built inside QR-Build, so the QR code and the quiz are one campaign. A dynamic QR code uses a redirect layer: the printed symbol stays the same while you edit the quiz, and scan analytics record the scans. That chain is how a physical placement stays measurable after the piece is printed.

Who is a QR code quiz for?

The primary fit is a business that wants engagement and a contact, not a scored test. Secondary fit is a teacher, trainer, or host who only needs to see what people answered.

What does the scanner actually see?

The phone opens a mobile page. Questions appear one at a time with progress and transitions. Info steps can pause the quiz with a title, text, image, and a custom button.

What do you receive after people finish?

Answers land in the dashboard submissions inbox, the same inbox forms use. You export a CSV. Submission volume follows your plan quota.

How Do You Create a QR Code Quiz in QR-Build?

Create a Quiz Funnel, add one question per step, choose a template and branding, then publish a dynamic QR code. After people scan, review submissions in the dashboard and export CSV. You can edit the quiz after the code is printed.
  1. 1

    Open the Quiz Funnel builder

Start at the Quiz Funnel route, /gen/quiz, or use the builder on this page. The in-product name is Quiz Funnel. That is the quiz QR code generator inside QR-Build, separate from a URL code that only points at another website.

  2. 2

Add questions, info steps, and an ending

Place one question on each step. Choice questions can include an Other option. Add info steps where you need a pause, keep or skip the welcome screen, and finish with a thank-you screen or a single redirect URL.

  3. 3

Choose a template and apply your brand

Pick a visual template, then set the logo, primary and secondary colors, profile name, profile image, and contact buttons for email, phone, SMS, and website. Some templates add images. One adds a countdown. One uses a chat layout.

  4. 4

Publish a dynamic QR code and place it

Print or display the code where someone can scan it, with a short line that says what they get for scanning. A dynamic code stays editable. Read static vs dynamic QR codes if you are choosing before a print run.

  5. 5

    Read answers and export CSV

Open the submissions inbox, which Quiz Funnel shares with forms. Export CSV when you need the rows in a spreadsheet. For scan counts, device mix, and timing, use scan analytics on the dynamic code.

Which Quiz Templates and Question Types Can You Use?

Quiz Funnel supports choice, text, contact, number, and date questions, plus non-question info steps. Multiple visual templates cover images, a chat-style agent, and one per-question countdown of up to 10 minutes.

A quiz funnel QR code is only as useful as the page behind it. Keep the question list short enough for the place where people scan, and use an info step when you need to explain the offer before the next question.

Which question types does Quiz Funnel include?

  • Single choice (radio), with an optional Other field
  • Dropdown, with an optional Other field
  • Multi-select checkboxes, with an optional Other field
  • Short text and long text
  • Email, phone, and number
  • Date and time

One question per step

Each step shows one question, with progress and transitions, so a phone screen is not a long form.

Info steps

An info step is not a question. It shows a title, text, an image, and a custom button between questions.

Welcome and thank-you

The welcome screen is optional and can be skipped. The ending is a custom title, message, and image, or one redirect URL.

Image templates

Some templates support a cover image, an image on a step, and image answer options.

Brand controls

Set a logo, primary and secondary colors, a profile name and image, and contact buttons for email, phone, SMS, and website.

Inbox and CSV

Submissions share the forms inbox. Export CSV. The number of submissions you can keep depends on the plan.

Which Templates Support Images and a Chat Style?

Some Quiz Funnel templates support a cover image, a picture on each step, and answers shown as images. One template presents questions in a chat style with a named agent avatar. Use images when the scan happens on packaging or a table tent and a picture explains the choice faster than a sentence. The chat template fits a guided product conversation, still one step at a time, with no branching between answers.

How Do Timed Questions Work?

One template adds a countdown on each question, up to 10 minutes. That is a clock on the step, not a score. People still submit whatever they select or type. QR-Build does not mark an answer correct, rank players, or build a leaderboard. A bar-night trivia card can use the timer for pace. If you need right and wrong answers, this template is the wrong tool.

What Are Info Steps and Thank-You Screens?

An info step is a screen between questions: title, text, image, and a button label you write. Use it for rules, a prize note, or a privacy line before an email field. The thank-you screen has a custom title, message, and image, or it sends every finished quiz to one redirect URL. Everyone who submits gets that same ending. The product does not send different people to different pages based on their answers.

What Are the Specifications of a QR-Build Quiz?

A QR-Build quiz is a hosted mobile Quiz Funnel on a dynamic QR code. It collects structured answers, stores them in the shared submissions inbox, and exports CSV. Grading, branching, live play, and native CRM sync are outside the product.
Specification Quiz Funnel behavior
Page format Hosted mobile page. One question per step, with progress and transitions.
Question types Single choice, dropdown, multi-select, short text, long text, email, phone, number, and date/time. Choice questions can offer Other.
Extra screens Optional welcome screen. Info steps with title, text, image, and a custom button. Thank-you screen or one redirect URL.
Templates Several visual templates. Some include a cover, step images, and image answers. One chat template uses a named agent avatar. One template has a per-question countdown up to 10 minutes.
Branding Logo, primary color, secondary color, profile name, profile image, and contact buttons for email, phone, SMS, and website.
Responses Dashboard submissions inbox shared with forms. CSV export. Volume is limited by the plan quota.
QR code Works with dynamic QR: edit the quiz after printing and review scan analytics.
Not included No correct answers, grading, scoring, leaderboard, branching, live multiplayer, native CRM, email-platform sync, Zapier, or webhooks.

Quota and paid features change by plan. Compare plans and submission limits before you promise a volume you have not checked.

Where Do QR Quiz Use Cases Work Best?

The strongest QR quiz use cases are product-preference capture, booth qualification, hospitality table tents, paced event trivia without scoring, and ungraded classroom check-ins. Business placements come first because the format is built to collect answers and contacts.

Each example below stays inside the product: one path through the questions, one thank-you or one redirect, and a CSV afterward. A station-to-station game is a different format. For that, use a QR code scavenger hunt.

Product finder on packaging

A shopper scans a shelf talker or a package and answers a few preference questions.

Put the email or phone field on a late step. The thank-you screen confirms what happens next. You read the preference rows in the inbox and follow up from the CSV. This is a lead generation quiz QR code, not an automatic product engine.

You leave with named preferences instead of an anonymous scan.

Trade-show booth qualification

A visitor scans a booth panel and answers role, need, and contact questions.

Use a short Quiz Funnel and a dynamic code so the questions can change during the show. After the event, export CSV from the submissions inbox. Broader capture workflow lives on our QR code lead generation page. This page is only the quiz format.

The team takes home a spreadsheet of answers instead of a stack of badges.

Restaurant table tent

A guest scans a tent card titled as a find-your-dish quiz.

Ask a few preference questions, then send every guest to one redirect URL, such as the menu or a coupon page you host. The quiz does not assemble a different dish per answer path.

The table stays in the conversation, and you can see which preferences were common.

Timed trivia at a bar or event

A host prints a code for a short trivia round that uses the countdown template.

The timer caps a question at 10 minutes or less. Collect text or choice answers and review them yourself. Do not tell the room there is an automatic winner, score, or leaderboard.

The code sets the pace. Judging stays with the host.

Classroom or training check-in

A teacher or trainer asks an ungraded question sequence and reviews the inbox later.

This is a response collector, not a test platform. For marks, points, or an answer key, send the class to a Google Forms QR code. Wider classroom ideas are on QR codes in the classroom.

You see who responded and what they wrote, without a gradebook.

When Should You Use a Quiz Funnel Instead of a Form QR Code?

Use Quiz Funnel when you want one question per step, a visual template, or a countdown. Use a form QR code when every field should sit on one page for straightforward data collection. Both save to the same submissions inbox and both export CSV.

The overlap is real: both collect answers from a scan. The format is the difference. A form is a data sheet. A quiz is a paced sequence. If you already know you want a single-page form, go to the form QR code page instead of stretching this one.

Criterion Quiz Funnel Form QR code
Layout One question per step, with progress and transitions. Fields collected on one page.
Job to be done Engagement and qualification through a sequence. Direct data collection.
Visual templates Image templates, image answers, and a chat-style agent. A form layout, not the quiz template set.
Timer One template has a per-question countdown up to 10 minutes. No quiz countdown.
Info steps Non-question screens with title, text, image, and a button. Not the quiz info-step model.
Ending Thank-you screen or one redirect URL. No answer-based branching. Form completion, not a quiz ending.
Where answers go Shared submissions inbox and CSV export. Same inbox and CSV export.

Comparison note, October 2026: we compared the Quiz Funnel builder with QR-Build's form builder. Neither product grades answers.

How Does QR-Build Compare With Typeform, Google Forms, and Live Quiz Links?

QR-Build hosts the quiz. Typeform and Google Forms are external pages you can open with a URL QR code. Kahoot and Quizizz are live or classroom game products. QR-Build does not replace their grading or live play.

Choose the hosted Quiz Funnel when the scan should open a quiz you edit inside QR-Build. Choose an external tool when you already depend on its grading, live session, or account. A URL QR code can still open that external link.

Option Best when Honest strength Limit to know
QR-Build Quiz Funnel You want a scan to open a branded, one-question-per-step page you host and edit. Dynamic QR, scan analytics, image and chat templates, optional countdown, CSV export. No grading, no branching, no live game, no native CRM or webhook.
Typeform behind a URL QR code The quiz or form already lives in Typeform and you only need a scannable entry. Typeform is a dedicated external form product with its own layout and account. The experience, logic, and billing sit with Typeform. Confirm details on Typeform's site. See our Typeform QR code guide.
Google Forms behind a URL QR code You need correct answers, points, or an answer key. Google Forms can auto-grade quizzes. QR-Build cannot. You are linking out, not using Quiz Funnel. Start from the Google Forms QR code page for that job.
Kahoot behind a URL QR code A host is running a live room and players need a join link. Kahoot is built for live, host-led play. QR-Build does not run that session. The code only opens the link you provide.
Quizizz behind a URL QR code Players need to open a Quizizz join page from print or a slide. Quizizz is built for classroom games, including live play. Quiz Funnel is a lead and answer collector, not that game. Confirm current join flows on Quizizz's site.

Comparison note, October 2026: strengths for Typeform, Google Forms, Kahoot, and Quizizz are described from their public roles. Verify current grading, live play, and integrations on each vendor site. We did not publish conversion rates.

Build the quiz, then print the code

Open the Quiz Funnel builder to add questions, pick a template, and publish a dynamic QR code. Upgrade later if you need scan analytics or a higher submission quota.

Where Should You Place a Quiz QR Code to Get More Completions?

Put the code where a person can hold a phone steady, and print a one-line reason to scan. Short quizzes finish more often. A dynamic code lets you fix the questions after you see the first completions.

What should sit next to the code?

Write the action and the payoff: take the two-minute preference quiz, qualify for the booth follow-up, or join the trivia round. A bare code does not explain itself.

Which surfaces fit a quiz?

Packaging and shelf talkers, booth panels, table tents, posters, and a closing slide all work when the code is large enough for the viewing distance and has clear space around it.

How long should the quiz be?

Match the wait. A queue or a table can hold a few steps. A passing glance on a shelf cannot. Put the contact field near the end only if earlier steps earned it.

What should you test before printing?

Scan on iPhone and Android, finish the quiz on a phone, and confirm the thank-you or redirect. After launch, use scan analytics to see whether the placement is being scanned.

What Mistakes Reduce QR Quiz Completions?

The usual failures are promising a score the product cannot give, printing a code you cannot edit, expecting a CRM sync, and hiding the reason to scan. A quiz that asks for a grade or a live game should be sent to a different tool.

Promising a score or a leaderboard

Quiz Funnel stores answers. It does not know which choice is correct, and it does not rank people. Say that plainly on the print piece.

Printing a static code for a quiz you will change

If the questions, thank-you, or redirect may change, use a dynamic QR code. A static code bakes the destination in.

Expecting Zapier, webhooks, or a CRM

Contacts leave as CSV. There is no native CRM, email-marketing, Zapier, or webhook connection. Plan the follow-up around the export.

Treating it as a live classroom game

Kahoot and Quizizz run live sessions. Quiz Funnel does not. Use a URL QR code if you only need to open their join page.

No instruction beside the symbol

Say what the scan opens and how long it takes. People skip codes that look like decoration.

Using a quiz when you needed a survey

A survey measures opinion on one page or a poll. A quiz funnel walks toward a contact or a single ending. For opinion measurement, use a survey QR code.

Should a Quiz QR Code Be Dynamic or Static?

Use a dynamic QR code for a quiz you may edit, measure, or retarget after printing. A static code is only reasonable when the destination will never change and you do not need scan analytics.

Dynamic QR is a redirect layer in front of the Quiz Funnel. You keep the printed code, change the quiz, and read scan analytics. The full contrast is on static vs dynamic QR codes.

Criterion Dynamic QR code Static QR code
After printing Edit questions, branding, thank-you, or the redirect without a reprint. The destination is fixed in the symbol.
Measurement Scan analytics show that the placement was scanned. No QR-Build scan analytics on the code itself.
Campaign reuse The same poster can point at a new quiz next month. A new destination means a new print.
Best fit Events, packaging, booths, and any quiz still being tuned. A permanent link you have no plan to measure.

Do You Need a QR Quiz, a Form, or a Graded Quiz Tool?

Choose Quiz Funnel for a paced, hosted quiz with CSV export, a form when one page of fields is enough, Google Forms when you need grading, and Kahoot or Quizizz when you need live play. QR-Build only opens a live-game link; it does not run that game. A small business, an in-house marketer, an agency, a restaurant, or a larger events team can use the same framework.
You need Choose Why
One question per step, images or chat, optional timer, contact on a later step QR-Build Quiz Funnel That is the hosted quiz format, with CSV export and dynamic QR.
Every field on a single page Form QR code A form is the shorter path for plain data collection.
Correct answers, points, or an answer key Google Forms, opened by a URL QR code Google Forms can grade. Quiz Funnel cannot.
A live host-led game Kahoot or Quizizz, opened by a URL QR code Those products run the session. QR-Build only opens the link.
An opinion survey or poll Survey QR code Surveys measure opinion. A quiz funnel is a sequence toward an ending or a contact.
A CRM workflow around the leads CSV export, then your own CRM Quiz Funnel does not push records to a CRM. Read the wider capture page if the workflow is the real question.

If the decision is really about follow-up systems, read QR code lead generation and then export CSV from this quiz. QR-Build has a free tier; dynamic editing, scan analytics, and a higher submission quota are paid. This page does not quote prices. Verify plans and submission limits on the pricing page.

How Did We Review QR Quiz Options?

We reviewed the Quiz Funnel builder in QR-Build and compared its public behavior with the roles of Typeform, Google Forms, Kahoot, and Quizizz. The page states only what this product does. Vendor features should be checked on each vendor site.

This page is a product description and a decision guide, reviewed in October 2026. We did not invent completion rates, scan benchmarks, or prices. Where a limit exists, we say so.

Product surface

Question types, info steps, welcome and thank-you, templates, timer cap, branding fields, the shared submissions inbox, and CSV export.

Boundaries

We checked that the builder does not offer correct answers, scoring, branching, live multiplayer, or a native CRM, Zapier, or webhook connection.

Adjacent QR-Build pages

We separated this page from form, survey, lead-generation, classroom, and Typeform or Google Forms pages so each query has one home.

External tools

We credited Google Forms for grading and Kahoot and Quizizz for live play. Confirm those products on their own sites before you buy or assign them.

What Do QR Quiz Terms Mean?

These five terms are the ones this page uses in a specific way: quiz funnel, info step, dynamic QR code, submission quota, and CSV export.

Quiz funnel

Quiz Funnel is QR-Build's name for a hosted mobile quiz opened by a QR code. It shows one question per step, can include info steps, and ends on a thank-you screen or a single redirect URL.

Info step

An info step is a non-question screen between quiz steps. It can show a title, text, an image, and a custom button. It does not record a choice.

Dynamic QR code

A dynamic QR code stores a redirect layer rather than a frozen destination. You can edit the Quiz Funnel after printing, and scan analytics can record scans.

Submission quota

A submission quota is the plan limit on how many quiz and form responses the inbox can accept. QR-Build does not publish that number on this page. Check plans and submission limits for the current quota.

CSV export

CSV export downloads submissions as a spreadsheet file from the dashboard inbox. It is the way quiz contacts leave QR-Build. There is no native CRM push.

These answers cover how to make a quiz with a QR code, what Quiz Funnel cannot do, and when a form, a graded Google Form, or a live game link is the better choice.

What Are the Common Questions About a QR Code Quiz?

  • What is a QR quiz?

A QR quiz is a quiz that starts when someone scans a QR code. In QR-Build, that quiz is a Quiz Funnel: a mobile page with one question per step. Answers are stored for CSV export. The page does not grade them.
  • How do I make a quiz with a QR code?

Open the Quiz Funnel builder, add questions and any info steps, choose a template, and publish a dynamic QR code. Place the code with a short instruction. Review the submissions inbox and export CSV when you need the rows.
  • What is a quiz funnel QR code?

A quiz funnel QR code opens QR-Build's Quiz Funnel. The name in the product is Quiz Funnel. It is the hosted quiz, not a code that only forwards to an outside form, and not a live game pin.
  • Can someone scan a QR code to take a quiz?

Yes. The scan opens the hosted mobile quiz in the phone browser. The person moves one question at a time, including any info steps you added, and finishes on your thank-you screen or a single redirect URL.
  • Does a QR-Build quiz grade answers or show a score?

No. Quiz Funnel has no correct answers, points, score, or leaderboard. If you need auto-grading, use a Google Forms QR code and confirm the grading settings in Google Forms.
  • Can QR-Build open a Quizizz or Kahoot game?

People who search for a quizizz qr code usually want to join a Quizizz game. QR-Build can put any Quizizz or Kahoot join link behind a URL QR code. QR-Build's own Quiz Funnel is a different tool: it collects answers and contact details, and it is not a live classroom game.
  • How is a Quiz Funnel different from a form QR code?

A Quiz Funnel shows one question per step and can use image templates, a chat-style template, info steps, and a countdown template. A form QR code puts the fields on one page. Both write to the same submissions inbox and both export CSV.
  • Can I use a QR code quiz for events?

Yes. A booth or registration desk can run a short qualification quiz and export CSV after the event. Use a dynamic code so you can edit questions during the show, and use scan analytics to see whether the sign was scanned.
  • Can a product recommendation quiz run from a QR code?

You can ask preference questions on packaging and collect an email on a later step. You then read the answers and follow up yourself. Quiz Funnel does not branch to a different product page per answer, and it does not calculate a recommendation score.
  • Can teachers use a QR code quiz in the classroom?

Teachers can collect ungraded responses and review them in the dashboard. Quiz Funnel will not mark the work. For a graded quiz, use Google Forms. More classroom patterns are in QR codes in the classroom.
  • Where do quiz answers go, and can they sync to a CRM?

Answers go to the dashboard submissions inbox and can be exported as CSV. There is no native CRM, email-marketing, Zapier, or webhook sync. Import the CSV into your own system. The wider capture context is on the QR code lead generation page.
  • Can I change a quiz after the QR code is printed?

Yes, if the code is dynamic. The printed symbol can keep the same redirect layer while you edit the Quiz Funnel. A static code does not work that way. See static vs dynamic QR codes.
  • Does the quiz include a countdown timer?

One template supports a per-question countdown of up to 10 minutes. The timer limits time on the step. It does not score the answer or end the quiz with a rank.
  • Is there a limit on quiz submissions?

Yes. Submissions share a plan quota with forms. This page does not quote the number. Check plans and submission limits for the current quota before a large event.
